Atari et Cryptic Studios announced that Champions Online has seen more than 1 million heroes created since its launch on September 1st. However, that's not to say there's one million active accounts in the game, since the character editor allows for several heroes to be created by one player.

Today also represents the start of the free Champions Online weekend. From 5pm UK time today until Monday 2nd November, players can download the game client and try Champions Online. The promotion was created to show off the Blood Moon update, the first major content patch which is also free, by the way.
