While Final Fantasy XIV launches at the end of September for PC, the PS3 version was delayed to March 2011. According to producer Hiromichi Tanaka, the reason was the lack of memory.

Tanaka said that "On the PC, they have enormous memory. For PS3, there’s a restriction. They are adjusting the memory size and customising it; it took longer then we were expecting. But we’re really working hard to bring it out as soon as possible."

The PC open beta begins early next month.
